Following the lifting of sanctions against Iran after the verification of the latter’s compliance with the terms of a nuclear deal struck in July, Cyprus is about to welcome two Iranian shipping companies, two sources familiar with the matter said.

The National Iranian Tanker Company and the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines are about to set up offices in Limassol, the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity citing the lack of authorisation to talk to the press on the matter.

“Both had offices before the sanctions so it is no surprise that they shall re-activate them.”
